Detox: Sounds scary as hell right?! For some detox is scary! Why? Because while many positive changes happen within the body some ugly things happen too! For an example the first 3 days of my detox consisted of a lingering head ache, red burning eyes and body restlessness. Especially my legs!
During the first 3 days I managed to lose 6 pounds! This was an obvious plus!! Totally victory really!!
By day 4 and 5 my skin began to glow and became super soft. The morning eye goop left and the nose booger’s went to a minimum. My resting heart beat dropped from the 100’s to the 60’s and my blood pressure went for high to normal. The headaches left and my energy increased. My total weight loss was now 10 pounds!!
How is this possible?! All I did was change my diet!! There’s an old saying. “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” The foods I ate were literally the medicine!! Natural medicine at that!!
So what did I eat? Get ready for it…….. on my first wake I drank a special detox mix. 7 ounces of water, 1 ounce of freshly juiced lemon and ginger root along with 1/2 tsp of Cayanne pepper. I continued to drink this 3 more times throughout the day until supper.
Occasionally I slipped in a black blueberry tea as a treat. Nothing but tea, no sugar or milk. For supper I ate a “Curry dinner” Cauliflower, peppers, onion, leak, ginger, curry and coconut milk. Simmer until soft! Enjoy!!
If I was still hungry I had another drink of my special detox drink as described above. Other than what I mentioned I did not eat or drink anything else. Yes it was hard!! Especially the first 3 days. But I knew my health depended on this so I did it!
There are so many promising diets for “weight loss” the Keto diet. Jenny Craig diet. Atkinson diet and more! Very few of these diets will offer you the benefits that the plant based diet will offer you!
